When Marcelo Bielsa was in charge at Marseille, it seemed assured that the club would be in the best possible position to try and compete with Paris St Germain's insane money at the top of the league. The club lead the division for seven months before finishing fourth, but that should have been a launching point. Instead Bielsa controversially walked out, stars were sold and Michel lead the team to an embarrassing 13th place finish.

The good news is that there's some good individual talent there, with FM favourite Doria in the squad, but the club are currently too reliant on loans and ageing players who aren't at the kind of level you'd expect from such a big team. And the fact that two Newcastle rejects - Remy Cabella and Florian Thauvin are in the squad says something too.

Clear out the chaff, rebuild a new system around the few gems and you'll have a good foundation to compete again.
