Football Manager 2017: Top 20 Richest Teams
4. Chelsea (£40m)
Transfer Budget: £40m, Available Wages: £279k
English football's original big spenders splashed some serious cash on the likes of David Luiz and Michy Batshuayi this summer, and they've got a decent chunk left to play with in FM 2017. There's at least enough money in Chelsea's bank account to sign another superstar, and even more if you're able to shift some of the team's dead weight.
Do they really need another big signing, though? Chelsea's squad is laced with quality all over the pitch, and there are few weak points. It may be wise to invest the money in youth instead, before loaning them out to Roda JC for four seasons then selling them for a pittance (because Chelsea).
