Football Manager 2018: 10 Essential Fan Demands It Must Include
1. A Better Social Feed
Football Manager’s social feed was one of last year’s big new features, but it wasn’t well fleshed out. Used to break news, spread rumours, and provide a greater in-game platform for fan opinions, it sounded cool at first, but soon became a pointless addition. After a few hours’ play, the social feed feels incredibly generic, and rarely reflects the gameworld.
Your star striker can finish the game with a hat-trick, Man of the Match award, and a 9.8 rating, but there’ll still be boatloads of negativity on the social feed. It doesn’t make any sense, and while it usually takes SI at least 2 or 3 games to master new features like this, 2017’s first attempt was a big disappointment.
If the feature isn’t improved on in 2018, it’s going to become redundant. There was no real reason to click on the social feed after playing FM 2017 for a while, and it provided little engagement. SI must find a way to make it better reflect the games’ goings-on, and if they can do this, it’ll not only become a valuable tool for keeping up with the latest news, but also gauge fan opinion and make adjustments accordingly.
Plus, how good would it be to see more Tweets from the players themselves, particularly those prone to Joey Barton-esque outbursts?
