Football Manager 2022: 10 Bargain Strikers You NEED To Sign

2. Julian Alvarez

Club: River Plate

Nationality: Argentinian

Price: £1.5 million

With Julian Alvarez, he’s a player who you should be snapping up ASAP as the upcoming March update for FM22 will soon be making it extremely difficult to sign this young Argentinian forward.

The reason for having problems signing Alvarez once that update rolls around? Why, that's because in real life he's recently signed for Manchester City. That deal went through during the January transfer window, but the player will remain at current club River Plate until the end of the season.

If you start a new FM22 save now - or simply carry on with a previous save game - you should be able to prize this 21-year-old away from River with little trouble. At times available for as little as £1.5 million, this is a forward who represents a true bargain for your money. At worst, he may set you back £3 million or so, but that is still an absolute steal.

With full Argentina caps to his name and the flexibility to play anywhere along a front three or even as a central attacking midfielder, this youngster is able to fit into your team immediately. Even if you're one of the historical big boys of world football, Alvarez is more than good enough to be at least a valued squad player in your first season - and he can also flourish in your starting XI.

Best employed as a central striker, putting Julian in an advanced forward role can reap major benefits when it comes to the sheer number of goals he'll get you. As alluded to, though, he's a fine option to use on your left wing as an inside forward/inverted winger
