Football Manager 2022: 10 Centre-Backs You Must Sign

6. Panagiotis Retsos

Football Manger 2022 Josko Gvardiol
SEGA

Club: Bayer Leverkusen

Nationality: Greek

Price: £3 million

At just £3 million pounds, Panagiotis Retsos represents one of the best bargains on Football Manager 2022.

Ideally utilised as a ball playing centre-back, this pacey defender can grow to become one of the better CBs in this latest FM game. Captaining Olympiacos when he was just 18 years of age, Retsos is a natural leader who can help drive you to dominance if you nurture him in the right way.

Injuries have majorly plagued his time at Bayer Leverkusen following a £15 million move from Olympiacos back in 2017, but the ability - at least on FM22 - is still there for this 22-year-old to thrive for midtable and title challenging sides.

With his price tag making him an affordable option for so many clubs, Retsos can prove to be a smart piece of business who will become a mainstay of your squad for several seasons. It also helps that the Greece international is capable of filling in at left-back, right-back and even in a defensive midfield spot should he be required.
