Football Manager 2022: 10 Centre-Backs You Must Sign

5. Eric Garcia

Football Manger 2022 Josko Gvardiol
SEGA

Club: Barcelona

Nationality: Spanish

Price: £28 million

For Pep Guardiola, Eric Garcia is one of those rare 'ones that got away' for the Manchester City boss in real life. Despite Pep's eagerness to keep the young Spain international at the Etihad, Garcia opted to walk away from City and join Barcelona this past summer.

Still only 20 years of age when FM22 starts, the Barca man has everything you could possibly wish for from a ball playing defender. In addition to solid defensive stats, this classy CB is comfortable in possession (see: 14 for passing) and is impressively calm when under pressure (see: 15 for composure). Not just is Garcia content with his natural ability, though, for he is also a hard-working, determined player who is guaranteed to consistently deliver the goods.

As per an early FM22 approach directly to his agent, Garcia will be available for £28 million. The problem is, the player himself will not be prepared to leave Barcelona in your first pre-season of a new save game. Given Barca's financial woes, though, both Garcia and his club will usually be more open to a deal being struck by the time the January transfer window comes around.
