Football Manager 2022: 10 Defensive Midfielders You Must Sign

7. Boubacar Kamara

Club: Marseille

Nationality: French

Price: £40 million

To compare him to a more well-known defensive midfielder, Boubacar Kamara is somewhat similar to AC Milan's Sandro Tonali.

While Tonali may set you back around £60 million when starting a new FM22 save, Kamara represents the same style of player but at a slightly cheaper price. That price of £40 million clearly isn't cheap, of course, but for that fee you'll get a top level ball-winning midfielder who can also play with the ball at their feet.

Fundamentally, Kamara hits plenty of the right spots that you'd want from a young defensive midfielder - as shown by 15s across the board for tackling, passing, teamwork, work rate, pace and balance.

The fact that he has such stats at just 21 years of age should inform you why this is a player who could turn out to be a special signing for you, with him able to do your defensive dirty work and pick a pass for a good decade or more should you opt to stick with the Marseille man.
