Football Manager 2022: 10 Signings You Must Make Every Time
5. Illya Zabarnyi
A 19-year-old Centre Back marshalling the defence for Dynamo Kyiv, Illya Zabaryni looks to be the next world class player to come out of the club's youth system, with Dynamo having produced two homegrown Balon D'Or winners in the form of Andriy Shevchenko and Oleg Blokhin.
Already having 16 caps for the Ukrainian senior national team, Zabaryni appeared on this year's Golden Boy long list, and whilst he did drop off before the final 20 in favour of higher profile favourites such as Barcelona's Pedri, and Borussia Dortmund's Jude Bellingham, it is an impressive feat for a player in a league which has suffered a real dip in quality and reputation in the last couple of years.
Football Manager scouts have traditionally been keen to recognise Eastern European wonderkids, and we would expect very high potential ratings for the defender, as well as the likes of Lech Poznań's Filip Marchwiński, and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia of Rubin Kazan.
Valued at just over £3m on FM21, this will likely increase a fair bit for this year's edition but he should still be very gettable for a top club, or an ambitious up and coming side in the major European leagues with a bit of money behind them.
