Football Manager 2022: 10 Signings You Must Make Every Time
4. George Honeyman
Whilst he isn't going to do much for a team chasing Champions League glory, George Honeyman is a player who should be playing at a higher level than he is. Named the 18th best player in the entire Football League by FourFourTwo in 2020, despite playing in League One at the time, he did lead his Hull City side to promotion last season.
However, having made his senior debut in the Premier League for Sunderland just before their descent into Netflix-approved freefall, the midfielder has been open about his ambition to get back to that level, this time as a first team regular.
A classic creative midfielder, what the 5'8" Honeyman lacks in physicality he makes up for in a great range of passing, an encouraging lack of injury problems, and intelligent off the ball movement; all invaluable on Football Manager in unlocking the potential of a dangerous forward line.
Able to play anywhere in midfield, and valued at less than £500k on last year's game, he will likely be a useful acquisition for ambitious Championship sides and even lesser Premier League outfits.
