Football Manager 2022 Review: 8 Ups And 2 Downs
7. Realistic Injury Risk

For gamers, this could well be viewed as a Down for how frustrating it can be - especially for those with a small squad - but Sports Interactive have brilliantly captured the issues a manager can have by constantly playing the same XI in every match.
Sure, we all would love to play with the same starting line-up of our best players from match to match, but that simply isn't possible in real-life due to the sheer amount of matches played by clubs across an average season. In FM and in the real world, squad rotation is now absolutely key to success.
As much as it may pain you to do so, if you refuse to rest players, you'll end up paying for it within a couple of weeks. Recent FM releases have often favoured making the most of your entire squad, but FM22 seems to have taken this to a whole new level - nicely reflecting what is experienced in the non-FM world.
It's not all about simply resting players, though, for a lack of game time can also increase the risk of injury for a player.
