Today has seen 2K Games officially announce the complete roster for the hotly anticipated WWE 2K23 that is now just one month away from release.

With John Cena adorning the WWE 2K23 cover, the game will feature 100 wrestlers at its launch point. As is usually the case, it's likely that more names of today and yesteryear will be added as downloadable content in the weeks and months after 2K23 is released.

The full list of the 178 superstars - if our tallying-up is correct - available to take control of when WWE 2K23 launches are as follows:

In addition to those names, the Ruthless Aggression Pack will give players access to Brock Lesnar '01, Randy Orton '02 and Leviathan (the OVW gimmick for Batista), whereas the Bad Bunny Bonus Pack will give access to, well, Bad Bunny.

Interestingly, Johnny Gargano is not listed on the official WWE 2K23 website, though Johnny Wrestling and 2K Games have used Twitter to confirm his involvement in the game.

Of course, given the nature of video games and the ever-changing landscape of WWE, a few of the stars included in the game have undergone gimmick changes since the game was being developed, though WWE 2K23 certainly has quite the stacked roster to get to grips with. Likewise, there are several notable absences where wrestlers clearly weren't in the WWE fold in time to make the cut - with names such as Bray Wyatt, the Good Brothers, Mia Yim, Candice LeRae, Tegan Nox, and Hit Row falling under that category.

Available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and Steam, WWE 2K23 is on general release from 17 March... though those who pre-order the Icon Edition will get early access from 14 March.

Once described as the Swiss Army Knife of WhatCulture, Andrew can usually be found writing, editing, or presenting on a wide range of topics. As a lifelong wrestling fan, horror obsessive, and comic book nerd, he's been covering those topics professionally as far back as 2010. In addition to his current WhatCulture role of Senior Content Producer, Andrew previously spent nearly a decade as Online Editor and Lead Writer for the world's longest-running genre publication, Starburst Magazine, and his work has also been featured on BBC, TechRadar, Tom's Guide, WhatToWatch, Sportkskeeda, and various other outlets, in addition to being a Rotten Tomatoes-approved film critic. Between his main dayjob, his role as the lead panel host of Wales Comic Con, and his gig as a pre-match host for Wrexham AFC games, Andrew has also carried out a hugely varied amount of interviews, from the likes of Robert Englund, Kane Hodder, Adrienne Barbeau, Rob Zombie, Katharine Isabelle, Leigh Whannell, Bruce Campbell, and Tony Todd, to Kevin Smith, Ron Perlman, Elijah Wood, Giancarlo Esposito, Simon Pegg, Charlie Cox, the Russo Brothers, and Brian Blessed, to Kevin Conroy, Paul Dini, Tara Strong, Will Friedle, Burt Ward, Andrea Romano, Frank Miller, and Rob Liefeld, to Bret Hart, Sting, Mick Foley, Ricky Starks, Jamie Hayer, Britt Baker, Eric Bischoff, and William Regal, to Mickey Thomas, Joey Jones, Phil Parkinson, Brian Flynn, Denis Smith, Gary Bennett, Karl Connolly, and Bryan Robson - and that's just the tip of an ever-expanding iceberg.
