Gamescom 2015: Every Brand New Gameplay Demo You Need To See

10. Assassin's Creed: Syndicate

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RJ_K6XAavX0 Can Ubisoft do it? Can they save Assassin's Creed after one of the worst PR and final product disasters of all time in 2014's Unity? Probably not, but if you're a glass-half-full kinda person, you're forever approaching every subsequent AC with the hope that they've 1. Licked their wounds and learned from their past mistakes and 2. Built something original and innovative to keep us from playing in the exact same way as every other since Brotherhood. The newest entry is at least fronting two playable protagonists; the twins Jacob and Evie Frye, the former being a brute and the latter favouring the shadows. Assumedly it's Ubi's way of addressing the multiple playstyles people tend to deploy in their games, but cynically (and somewhat realistically) it feels more like a way of segmenting abilities across two characters when we used to have access to everything from one. GamesRadar got hands on with the Evie stuff, but a very worrying new ability is to stand still and quite literally disappear, Metal Gear Solid 4 octocam-style. Y'know, because she's a 'master assassin', and that's what they... do? Perhaps this is the year we finally put AC to bed, but let us know in the comments what you think of the newest footage and whether you're inevitably going to buy the latest instalment in October. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZkWuvbsXVjo
