In the same year that God of War was launched, at the same time the MCU was gearing up for their biggest instalment of the franchise, Avengers: Infinity War. Limited-time events had already been made in other games such as Fortnite, and the developers at Santa Monica saw fit to add a little Easter Egg of their own.

After completing Sindri’s quest, Family Business, Kratos is rewarded with the Shattered Gauntlet of Ages talisman, which is described as having “fragments of its former strength scattered through the realms.” Like all talisman’s in the game, there is space for enhancements and upgrades and there are six specific enhancements that pay reference to each of the six Infinity stones that can be found throughout the game.

Muspelheim’s Eye of Power (the Power Stone) requires resources from the challenge available on Muspelheim and is crafted by Brok and Sindri.

Eye of the Outer Realm (the Space Stone) can be found in a chest located on the upper floor of Tyr’s Temple.

Asgard’s Stone of Existence (the Reality Stone) is acquired after beating the Valkyrie on Helheim.

Andvari’s Soul (the Soul Stone) is rewarded from Brok after completing the quest, Second Hand Soul.

Ivaldi’s Corrupted Mind (the Mind Stone) is acquired after beating the Valkyrie on Alfheim.

Njord’s Temporal Stone (the Time Stone) is obtained after defeating the Valkyrie Queen Sigrun. Sigrun can only be challenged after beating all other Valkyrie’s in the game and all helmets are returned to the Council of Valkyries.

After players are able to locate the six stones (or enhancements) the talisman becomes a devastating asset that could really have come in handy when facing Sigrun herself. Hopefully we’ll get to keep it for God of War 5.
