Grand Theft Auto 6: 5 Time Periods Rockstar MUST Consider

4. The Summer Of Love

The late 1960s and more specifically the protest-heavy Summer Of Love is an era scarcely explored in video games (the sooner we all forget about Mafia III, the better) and is one long past due for its time in the gaming sun.

The stereotypical personalities that were born out of this era are some of the loudest and boldest in history. From youths of the world coming into their own as a formidable force to be reckoned with to chain-smoking businessmen clutching at the straws of the 1950s, there was enough greed and rebellion inherent in this era to fill an entire franchise, let alone a mere single instalment.

The cars were getting bigger, and the fashion even more so. The American people were frustrated and cynical in the aftermath of the Cold War and in the midst of Vietnam. A President had been murdered in broad daylight and the civil rights movement was coming to a revolutionary head.

The late 1960s were years defined by aggression and protest... and crime was booming like never before.

Grand Theft Auto meets Mad Men? Yes, please.
