Grand Theft Auto has attracted Hollywood talent in the past, from Ray Liotta to Michael Madsen, and reports suggest its sixth core instalment has a couple of A-listers in its crosshairs.
That's a literal couple: Drive star Ryan Gosling and his real-life squeeze Eva Mendes are said to top Rockstar's most-wanted list of potential GTA 6 voice actors.
Reports, echoed here by Movie Pilot, state that the game's protagonist has been "tailor-made" made with Gosling in mind, while Mendes is being lined up to voice the series' first female protagonist.
Although these rumours have been peddled by a number of news outlets, it's grain-of-salt stuff since none of them have much meat on their bones, citing the usual "unnamed sources" as the point of origin.
Still, landing stars of Gosling and Mendes's calibre is the kind of ambition Rockstar should be showing. This is one of the biggest gaming brands in the world, and for its sixth core instalment the studio must think bigger and bolder, since GTA 5 raised the bar high.
