GTA 6: 12 Exciting Theories That Would Change EVERYTHING

8. Going "Always-Online"

The interesting thing about GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 is that, while they both offer multiplayer options (and quite an extensive suite of them at that), they’re primarily single-player experiences.

With the release of Grand Theft Auto Online, though, the line became somewhat muddied. It’s to this mode that the game owes almost all its continued success, so perhaps this style of gameplay is the wave of the future.

The single-player component was swiftly left in the dust like a bullet-riddled foe when Online was released, after all, leading to talk of a potential next entry in the series being online-only (and/or of a potential GTA Online 2).

Always-online never fails to be a controversial inclusion in games (especially ones that don’t solely rely on an online component), so there’s potential for a PR nightmare if any of this proves to be true.

Rockstar knows what’s at stake with a hypothetical GTA VI, so it would be one heck of a gutsy decision to take this route.
