GTA 6: 8 Things It Must Learn From Red Dead Redemption 2

What can the wild west bring to a modern day society?

When Grand Theft Auto 5 was released to the public back in September 2013 (yes, it really was that long ago), it instantly broke records. Earning $800 million after just one day of being on the shelves, Rockstar's latest iteration only left fans begging for more.

Thankfully, that came in the form of Red Dead Redemption 2 just over five years later, once again hoovering up awards left, right and centre.

As expected, Rockstar were able to add many new elements to both the story and online modes. This doesn't mean that Rockstar's most recent instalment was entirely perfect, though. After all, what would a video game be without a few hitches?

Granted, there went nearly as many glitches as when GTA Online was released in October 2013. It has given Rockstar the opportunity to learn from some of their mistakes though, alongside thinking where these new ideas could end up heading forward. The new additions that were added into the second Red Dead game were, for the most part, excellent.

With GTA 6 being the next on the horizon, there are a few of RDR2's defining features that should make the cut.

8. Focus On Side Content

Previous instalments to the Grand Theft Auto franchise have featured a plethora of side activities for the player to participate in.

Whether you wanted to boost your stamina by completing a triathlon or follow in the footsteps of Tiger Woods as a professional golfer, GTA fans truly weren't let down when it came to side activities.

What Rockstar need to achieve in GTA 6 though, is provide a more focused approach to the side content. It's all well and good completing these aforementioned tasks, but where's the fun?

If a player wants to go out on a new venture, they should come out of it with a feeling of accomplishment. Perhaps add in trophies for completing the activities on offer, or raise the amount of money you receive in-game.

Obviously, you won't be earning as much as you would for completing a heist, but it would still be nice to be awarded with a slightly larger sum after going several rounds in a tense game of golf.
