GTA 6: Everything We Know So Far

2. Single Player Remains The Focus

Anybody worried about GTA Online becoming Rockstar’s main concern should sleep easy. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick said in a Q3 2021 conference call that creating “powerful single-player experiences” was always going to be the core goal for GTA's development squad.

That's really good news, to be fair.

Zelnick spoke of strong story-driven narratives, and pointed out that Grand Theft Auto's 3D titles have always hinged on crafting immersive worlds full of interesting characters. That's not about to change just because they're raking it in with Online. Those uninterested in the GTA Online suite will sleep soundly knowing this one.

You won't be forced into some always online component just to satisfy the cash cow. Rockstar aren't about to turn into EA and introduce GTA: Ultimate Team either! Basically, the single-player aspect of GTA 6 is going to be their priority. Online will remain, but it's not about to steal the spotlight for itself forever.
