GTA Batman: What If Rockstar Made A Game Set In Gotham

Main Characters

Batman The main event, the reason I€™d probably pay upwards to £100 to play this game (don€™t tell Rockstar that though!), Batman is of course our protagonist. For the first time in video game history, we€™re able to examine this iconic hero€™s tumultuous origins first hand without actually having to witness our parents' murder. Which is nice. Robin Encountered during the game€™s second main chapter, Robin becomes an available team mate from then onwards. He€™s an extra pair of hands when Batman gets outnumbered, and he can also be given orders from a radial menu, allowing for strategic assaults. Jim Gordon Initially you€™ll be working against the GCPD, but Gordon is your way in to the inner circle. As you progress the story, Gordon will become one of your main mission-givers; you€™ll meet him as lore dictates, right on the roof of the GCPD next to the Bat-Signal. Alfred Pennyworth Present throughout the game (with the exception of the prologue) Alfred is your primary confidant. Start a conversation with him to instantly heal any wounds or save the game. He€™ll also drive you around as Bruce Wayne and even has certain special missions to give throughout the game. Lucius Fox If you want to upgrade your tech - which I assume you will - Lucius is the man to see. He can be found at Wayne Enterprises or at his home, depending on the time. Fox is one of the only people who know you're Batman, even if he'll never come out and say it directly, meaning you can forget about your AE meter around him. He'll give you new vehicles, improve your current gadgetry and even invent snazzy new ones as the game goes on. The best gadgets though, you'll have to invent yourself in the Batcave's workshop. Vicki Vale In the comics, ace reporter Vicki Vale is always trying to score an exclusive with Bruce Wayne. Agreeing to an interview with her and showing up on time will decrease your Alter-ego meter, but there are a range of other social missions that will involve her (taking her to a fundraiser as your date, for example). She€™ll also show up in the main mission chain from time to time as a peripheral character. The Joker The main antagonistic force in the latter chapters of the game, defeating The Joker will be your key to being accepted as the saviour of Gotham and thus achieving the game€™s primary objective. While he won€™t appear until later on, when he does, finding and neutralising him will be your greatest challenge as The Caped Crusader yet. Dr. Thomas Elliot Way before he was Hush, Dr. Thomas Elliot was a respected surgeon and childhood best friend to Bruce Wayne. Similarly to Alfred, you can heal your wounds with Elliot at the expense of slightly filling your Alter-Ego meter. Although Elliot is still a good guy in our fantasy Rockstar Batman game, although certain events in the story call into question his true motivation and indeed his sanity. Harvey Dent Harvey Dent features heavily throughout the storyline, but not as Two-Face (that€™s for the sequel!). Much of the time you spend as Bruce Wayne will be spent with him and he€™s also a secondary mission giver in that he divulges information on Gotham€™s criminal underworld, which Batman is then free to 'interpret'. He can also help you clear your Alter-Ego meter, should you help him out as Bruce Wayne. GCPD The GCPD will naturally feature heavily in our fantasy Batman game. At first, the entire force will be on Batman€™s tail, but as you progress the story they will become allies. They will come to your aid in larger skirmishes (although they won€™t exactly sway the tide) and you can expect to see and interact with familiar faces like Harvey Bullock, Renee Montoya, Arnold Flass and even the previous Commish' Gillian Loeb, earlier in the story at least. The Rogues Gallery Although the game is set within the narrative framework of three prominent graphic novels, that€™s not to say that foes from outside of these stories don€™t feature. You can expect appearances from a wide range of familiar Batman Rogues, including but not limited to: Victor Zsasz; Killer Croc; The Penguin; Clayface; The Riddler; Deadshot; Harley Quinn and Posion Ivy. So there it is. If we ran Rockstar, we€™d start attempting to secure the Batman license immediately. Of course we don€™t unfortunately, so we€™ll just have to content ourselves (for now) with our imagination. Anything you€™d like to add? Do let us know.
