GTA V: 10 Action Movies It Needs To Steal From

The Grand Theft Auto series has been long-heralded as a pop culture touchstone, satirising the world around us as much as it celebrates it. What better way for Rockstar to do this than to include some missions pulled straight out of some of our favourite action movies? While previous games have in a broad way borrowed from some of the classics, we'd love to see some more blatant references, given how well some recent set-pieces would translate into the GTA world, what with its focus on over-the-top violence, manic police chases and frantic shoot-outs. Here's the 10 action films GTA V needs to steal from...

10. Drive

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uX0H9moUGsI Drive and the GTA universe go hand in hand, what with their mutual focus on slickness, great music, and cool characters. The opening getaway sequence from Drive would be a great way to start a GTA game, quietly intense, as you at first wait patiently for your clients to perform their robbery, and then quietly flee the scene. Of course, the cops aren't stupid, so you'll have to pull into some dark alleys and wait patiently - a rare instance of stealth in a GTA game, perhaps? - and once you're spotted by the police helicopter, it's time to punch the gas. Introducing a police scanner into the GTA games could also be an interesting way to shake it up; it gives us a greater awareness of our surroundings and also heightens the intensity of the action.
