10. Topdown Graphics
The graphics in Grand Theft Auto games today are incredible, particularly in GTA V, with visuals so stunning that it occasionally blurs the boundaries of video game and reality. The attention to detail placed by Rockstar in even the smallest things, such as the shoes you wear on your feet through to the sidewalks you place them on, is quite frankly heroic. However, when the franchise first began in the late 90s, your character was merely a faceless blob seen from up high. Graphics were presented from a top-down perspective, and all you saw of fellow pedestrians was the top of their heads as the bobbed along the streets. This is where the GTA series began, and that it has gotten where it has today, as one of the most iconic brands on the market, is an astounding feat.
