3. The Same Old Story

Every time a new GTA game is released, its the same old story, controversy-wise. It drops, it outsells almost everything on the shelves and then people start boycotting it. Lather, rinse, repeat. In many ways, it was one of the first folk devils of gaming (one of: you also had Doom and Duke Nukem, amongst others) and it has a long and storied history of controversy, which, as Ive said before, probably attributes to how massively hyped GTA V is. To fans of the series, this perpetual controversy has grown tiresome, simply because of its grinding inevitability. And these boycotters rarely ever achieve anything, so why do they still bother? Who knows; maybe theyre gluttons for punishment; maybe they actually believe theyre saving the world; maybe theyre only happy when theyre publically complaining about something. Suffice to say, theyll be back for GTA V, ready for us to not give a sh*t all over again.
