GTA V Online: 8 Fan Demands That Must Happen In 2018
6. Fewer Financial Restrictions
Although the new content that's come to GTA Online is technically free, you're still going to have to pay up to engage with it. Costing in-game currency, the most substantial updates require players to shell out millions of dollars to get their hands on the new toys, and if you don't have the cash, you're looking at a long grind through older missions and heists.
Of course, you can always just splash some real money on a shark card and get in on the action straight away. Obviously, that's what Rockstar and Take Two would prefer, but it doesn't make it any less frustrating for players returning after a hiatus to try out the new content, only to find out that they lack the funds to do so.
Consequently, the new updates only really reward the players constantly jumping into Online sessions, whereas estranged fans eyeing up a comeback are left with the choice of either spending real money, or grinding out the content they were already bored of in the first place.
At this point, Rockstar have absolutely raked in the revenue from this business model, but some consumer-friendly changes would be welcome going forward.
