GTA V Release - Day 1 Of Exposure

In whats bound to be a feather in the cap of X-Box owners, those choosing to purchase a digital copy on the Playstation Network Store were met with disappointment on launch, as files were corrupted and would not download past 14%. 18gb files are sitting on an innumerable amount of consoles, none of which can be accessed. As of writing the Playstation Network has yet to resolve this issue, with many people pulling their hair out as they look at an additional wait on top of the 5 years they have already endured.

With glitches in their system stemming from previous games available as digital downloads, this can't look good on Sony as they prepare to enter the next-generation of consoles later this year. It has rattled the faith of many, those whom are seeking customer support from a company that is no doubt inundated with e-mails of others in the same vein.

Rockstar has said via twitter (@RockstarSupport): "For optimal performance, we recommend not installing that (Play) disc. We will have more info on our Support Site at launch." Speculation as to why boils down to the games ability to process data/objects as the character approaches certain places in the environment. Digital Foundry has posted a YouTube video as to why you should not install the second disc on X-Box, and it can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v0gPB0gdoOM

Added to the list of bugs on release, Rockstar's Social Club for GTA V is currently unavailable. A feature in GTA V is to use an option in your cell phone to be able to take and upload pictures to your social circle on their website. Additionally their iFruit app, available exclusively on Apple products currently, forcing Android users like the writer to wait a bit until it's developed for our OS, is currently unavailable. Later on in the game when Trevor is introduced to Chop the Dog, you are able to teach the dog new tricks and raise its companionship with Trevor via the app with a Tamagotchi-like feel.
