2. A Protagonist Will Be Voiced By Ryan Gosling

With GTA V and GTA Online in full flourish, it's rare to hear GTA VI rumours that go into any specific details about what we can expect. And yet here we are, with another GTA game at least three years away, hearing that brooding Hollywood heartthrob Ryan Gosling could voice one of its protagonists. Gosling is no stranger to crime films, and his GTA VI character will purportedly be based on the hero of €œDrive€. In that film, Gosling plays a softly-spoken loner and getaway driver with a violent criminal past that never gets fully revealed. Given that Gosling tends to be a man of few words in his crime movies - Place Beyond the Pines and Only God Forgives being further examples - might GTA 6 revolve around a more mysterious protagonist than previous outings? This would be an intriguing change in direction for the series, whose anti-heroes ever since the mute Claude in GTA III were brimming with wise-cracks and comments - whether they were murdering someone or being hit by a car. A less vocal, less outspoken protagonist for GTA VI could be just the breath of fresh air the series needs (the first we'd have had since III), as you could easily make a case that its protagonists have descended into pastiche in recent years.
