GTA VI: 10 Huge Rumours You’re Not Supposed To Know

1. Released In 2018

One of the things that make GTA so treasured is the fact that Rockstar has always been sparing about releasing new entries in the series. Instead of churning out game after game year after year, Rockstar takes its time to lovingly develop each new entry, ensuring that it always delivers on fans' astronomic expectations. There is no set pattern for how often Rockstar releases GTA games. There was a seven-year gap between GTA III and GTA IV, then five between that and GTA V. But let's remember that GTA III, Vice City and San Andreas all came out between 2001 and 2004, so there is always a possibility of a faster release cycle if Rockstar doesn't have to change their engine. With GTA Online at the peak of its powers right now, and Rockstar investing most of its time into making it as great an experience as possible, we're not likely to see a superfast turnover like back in the PS2 days. Rockstar will want to make sure next GTA is a true current-gen iteration, rather than simply throwing the GTA V formula into a new city, and that will take time. Based on the series' previous releases, the most common theories about a GTA VI release date point to 2018. Are there any we missed? What are you most excited for in GTA VI?
