Murdered prostitutes, carjacking and career criminals don't really fit in with Nintendo's family-friendly ethos, but times are changing during the Switch era,

The Big N's versatile new console is geared towards a broader audience than the Wii machines before it, which includes mature gamers who enjoy some of the above.

Grand Theft Auto parent company Take-Two Interactive is taking a wait-and-see approach to Switch development - one of several publishers to do so - but recent comments from its CEO Strauss Zelnick suggest the firm is about to get on board.

Nintendo Life quotes him as saying...

“The sales have been great. We expect sales to continue to be great. We’re very optimistic around the platform. We’re very supportive of Nintendo. So the only thing that’s changed in the last six months is our initial belief has been reinforced by the early very strong results.”

Whether Zelnick's apparent enthusiasm for the Switch will result in games like GTA VI finding their way to the console remains to be seen, but it cannot be ruled out entirely.

Grand Theft Auto has, after all, appeared on Nintendo hardware in the past, with the excellent Chinatown Wars debuting on the DS handheld system almost a decade ago.
