GTA VI: 9 Things That Must Happen In 2018

Whatever happens with GTA VI, it can't repeat the mistakes of Red Dead Redemption 2. Announced last year, Red Dead has enjoyed a rather prolonged release window, being pushed from its intended schedule this year to an unspecific early 2018 date.

RDR 2's announcement-to-release window could end up being anywhere from a year and a half to two years by the time it eventually hits shelves, which, while good by Rockstar standards, isn't the route modern video games are heading.

The next GTA doesn't need years to build hype or get players interested, and realistically it probably wouldn't impact sales if the game released a day after it was announced. Instead of dragging things out, the next game should follow in the footsteps of Fallout 4, dropping less than six months after its first unveiling.

With the industry changing as much as it is, it wouldn't be a surprise if GTA VI's release date was closer than you think.
