GTA VI: 9 Things That Must Happen In 2018

4. Confirm A Lead Female Character

For years now, fans have been wondering when GTA will finally include a playable female character in its main story.

The previous games have always dashed the hopes of those wanting a woman in the central role, as the roles wouldn't really work without a male protagonist. The bread and butter of GTA so far has always been about exploring masculinity and the dangers of living up to the ideal image of manhood, so without a man in the central role, they wouldn't really work.

With the introduction of three different playable characters in the fifth game though, that justification no longer holds water. There's space now to show the perspectives of different genders, and a female protagonist would add a welcomed change to the regular single-player dynamic.

Between the last game and the upcoming Red Dead Redemption 2 it seems as though Rockstar is pretty committed to the idea of multiple characters, and next year would be perfect time to announce GTA's first playable female protagonist.
