HBO's The Last Of Us: 9 Scenes We Want To See

1. Ellie's Infection / Relationship With Riley

The final scene we'd love to see incorporated into HBO's The Last of Us is another moment from the game's DLC Left Behind. In the climax of the narrative, Ellie and Riley find themselves outnumbered by Infected. Whilst they manage to eliminate the various Runners and Clickers, they're both bitten in the process.

Of course, we know that Ellie is immune and won't succumb to her infection but Ellie doesn't know that. Instead, the duo must decide whether to end their lives or accept the infection and enjoy whatever time they have left together.

The DLC ends here so we never actually see what happens to Riley. Ellie obviously survives and we can infer that the duo decided to wait the infection out as Ellie makes a passing comment about still waiting "for her turn." We can then presume that Riley turned.

Whether Ellie did anything about this, or simply left the now-infected Riley, we don't know.

What we do know is that Storm Reid will be portraying Riley in HBO's The Last of Us so it's almost a given that we'll see this scene play out. It'll be interesting to see if the show decides to show what happens to Riley or whether once again, it'll be left to interpretation.
