Once 47s past that was unlocked by back in the asylum, shortly before he finished off his creators, it didn’t just go away. Something broke in 47 that day. Even though he still remained the best killer for hire, personality and human emotions started to leak through the cold, stoic exterior.

He wanted out, but couldn’t just leave the ICA. So he did what anyone else would do and faked his own death. 47 could finally leave his past behind and chose his own destiny. Moving to a Catholic church in the Sicilian countryside, he became a man of faith and was taken in by Father Vittorio.

This might the best attempt by anyone to give a cold hearth killer some humanity. 47 goes form taking life, to greeting it, by looking after a garden of all things, but this doesn’t last forever and his past eventually catches up with him.

It is Sergei Zavorotko who tracks 47 down and kidnaps Father Vittorio. This leaves 47 no choice, but to get back in the game and rejoin the ICA. From here he takes on a number of high importance contracted for the ICA in exchange for information on Father Vittorio whereabouts. These jobs are ones that only 47 could undertake. The ICA along with Diana are glad to have their top agent back in the suit.

After killing Sergei and saving Father Vittorio, he turns down the offer of living a peaceful life once again. 47 now understands that the only way he can be safe is if he remains a Hitman.
