Hitman: The Dark Past Of Agent 47 Explained
The ICA
Agent 47 would spend years killing for the ICA, taking on hits after hit. Travelling all around the world, he was able to fit in almost like a ghost, thanks to the DNA of the Five Fathers. It didn’t matter the country, the role or situation he was dropped in, 47 could blend in where and how he wanted.
He rose to Legend status before becoming a myth altogether in the Criminal Underworld. Thought the ICA doesn’t have its own motivations, they simply exist as a go-between company for the clients and contracts. Politics, rivalries and agendas are not in their interest. They, for the most part, intend to stay as neutral as possible in the killing business.
Even though at times they have had healthy partnerships with the FBI, CIA, MI6, CSIS, NSA and even the UN. As a result, this ensures the ICA remains one of the most connected groups in the world, almost shaping the future.
This conglomerate doesn’t only offer assassinations, they offer intelligence and other services for the right price. None of this comes cheap of course, and ensures that the agency remains well funded though its numerous clients. Once becoming a client, the ICA is extremely reluctant to even authorise a hit out on them. Though exceptions have been made twice before, one Sergei Zavorotko for his possession of WMDs and client Silvio Caruso, thanks to the elusive Shadow Client. Who we’ll get to later on.
Agent 47s relationship has been rocky at times, with him even going against them in the past, but the bald harbinger of death eventually comes back into the fold.
