If we were ranking off loot and design aesthetic alone, Scarecrow would obliterate this list. Looking like some demonic infusion of Freddy Krueger and the Arkham series' nightmare levels, Jonathan Crane's debut in the franchise is one made with the most utmost style.

From shredded flesh and zombielike, protruding ribcages to top-hats, fiery eyes and fang-toothed grins, NetherRealm designed Scarecrow to be genuinely disturbing at times. Of course, playing as him means you can weaponise this formidable presence as your own, unleashing everything from spinning chain attacks to a supermove that sees Crane grow to a ridiculous size, before thwacking his foe left and right for the win.

All the style and fever dream substance to match, Scarecrow's presence in Injustice 2 is immaculately designed in every respect.
