7. It's Continuing The Storyline From The First Game

This one's a bit of a no-brainer, but if you're unaccustomed to the convoluted and inter-dimensional foundations of the Injustice lore, this one may have slipped past you.

The trailer shows a free-for-all of sorts, depicting a five-way fight between Superman, Flash, Batman, Aquaman, and Supergirl.

While this would seem to hint at a multi-factional storyline (we'll get to that later), NetherRealm's press release once again confirmed that the ethereal civil war between Batman and Superman would be taking centre stage in Injustice 2's narrative.

What this will bode for the other heroes of the DCU is currently anyone's guess, but if the trailer offers any indication of allegiances one way or the other, it's certainly done a damn good job of masking them.
