Injustice 2 Trailer: 10 Things You Totally Missed

8. Bruce's Kryptonite Suit, And Something From The Future...

Injustice 2 Batman Beyond
NetherRealm

Anyone who's anyone knows that Batman wouldn't trust his friends as far as he could throw them, and when your friend happens to be one of the most powerful aliens in the universe, that means a pretty powerful countermeasure is necessary.

Though Bruce doesn't use his kyrptonite-infused Bat-Suit on the boy in blue, he does put it to work against Aquaman. It looks particularly gladiatorial, and in keeping with the theme of Injustice's nigh-mythical interpretation of the DC lore, looks a treat. But that's not all, as what we can safely assume to be this particular gear-set's third and final form actually references one of the character's most beloved and iconic iterations.

That's right, close to the end of the trailer The Dark Knight himself dons a costume heavily-inspired by Batman Beyond, replacing the black and broad symbol on his chest with a jagged red one derivative of the 1999 continuation of The New Batman Adventures.

It's an absolutely awesome design, and one I personally can't wait to see in gameplay. If it's as half as cool as the neo-noire costume of Terry McGinnis' days underneath the cowl, I'll be one very happy fanboy indeed.

Content Producer/Presenter

WhatCulture's very own resident movie guy, Ewan has been working in the content creation biz for over 10 years now, having started as a freelance contributor to WhatCulture Gaming all the way back in 2015. After graduating with a First-Class Honours in History from Northumbria University in 2017 (where he won a prize for a totally killer dissertation on the Watergate years), Ewan took on the role of Comics Editor at WhatCulture and quickly developed WhatCulture Comics into one of the biggest superhero-focused channels on YouTube. He followed this with a brief hiatus at Screen Rant in 2021, where he worked across the Gaming and Film sections as a writer and editor, before returning to WhatCulture as a Senior Content Producer / Presenter in 2023. He started his own podcast, We Love Dad Movies, in 2022, and has contributed several written pieces to the Eisner-nominated comics website Shelfdust as well. In his current role, Ewan incorporates his love of cinema, comic books, and history into written pieces and video essays for WhatCulture's Film & TV channel, as well as WhatCulture Gaming and WhatCulture Horror, with a particular focus on nineties-era Dad Movies, old school Westerns, and Golden Age Hollywood Noir. John Carpenter is his fave, and he thinks Batman Beyond should never have been cancelled. If that's your vibe, you'll probably like his stuff.
