Remember when gamers found the hidden Arkham Asylum Easter Egg tucked away inside Warden Sharpe's office, that proved Rocksteady had been working on Arkham City all along? Well, we might have another case of just that. Don't get too excited just yet though. After all, Rocksteady made it abundantly clear in the run up to and aftermath of Arkham Knight that they wouldn't be doing another Batman game. Still, given their last cryptic Arkham Insider video, pretty much anything's possible, even if the franchise is bound to live on with or without their expertise at the helm of another project. Back to the Easter Egg though, which finds itself in the self-titled 'Community Challenge Pack' in the Wayne family's humble abode. Players who interact with that famous grand piano are treated to a secret wall of sorts, with all sorts of writings regarding Penguin, what appears to be a murder mystery, and an elusive cell door with the numbers '4.25' scrawled atop it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2iyR0hsRGc8 Whilst these numbers would seem inconsequential to casual Bat-fans, 4.25 actually references the date in which Batman #1 first dropped in 1940. With this in mind, could another Bat-themed announcement be on the way come April? Whether it's Arkham-related or TellTale's latest is anyone's guess, but either way, April just got a whole lot more interesting. Do you think it's plausible Rocksteady are releasing another Arkham title, or does this relate to Telltale's game? Let us know in the comments!
WhatCulture's very own resident movie guy, Ewan has been working in the content creation biz for over 10 years now, having started as a freelance contributor to WhatCulture Gaming all the way back in 2015. After graduating with a First-Class Honours in History from Northumbria University in 2017 (where he won a prize for a totally killer dissertation on the Watergate years), Ewan took on the role of Comics Editor at WhatCulture and quickly developed WhatCulture Comics into one of the biggest superhero-focused channels on YouTube. He followed this with a brief hiatus at Screen Rant in 2021, where he worked across the Gaming and Film sections as a writer and editor, before returning to WhatCulture as a Senior Content Producer / Presenter in 2023. He started his own podcast, We Love Dad Movies, in 2022, and has contributed several written pieces to the Eisner-nominated comics website Shelfdust as well.
In his current role, Ewan incorporates his love of cinema, comic books, and history into written pieces and video essays for WhatCulture's Film & TV channel, as well as WhatCulture Gaming and WhatCulture Horror, with a particular focus on nineties-era Dad Movies, old school Westerns, and Golden Age Hollywood Noir. John Carpenter is his fave, and he thinks Batman Beyond should never have been cancelled. If that's your vibe, you'll probably like his stuff.
