Isle Of Armor: 10 Highlights From Pokemon's First Expansion

5. The Surprise Return Of Walking Pokemon

The unadvertised returning feature, last seen in Let's Go, was welcomed by many fans and makes exploring the Isle an even more personal experience.

Considering how most of the content for the Isle of Armor turned out to be aired before release, this being kept under wraps is even more surprising but no less welcome. After a certain point in the story, Mustard will bestow upon you the ability to let your number one Pokemon follow you around as you traverse the Isle of Armor!

The one downside is this privilege doesn't extend to mainland Galar, but its still a delight. Walking Pokemon is a feature players cry out for constantly and has only appeared three times in the series before (most recently and significantly in the Let's Go titles).

It's not a flawless experience; some Pokemon can't keep even the slightest bit of pace with you and interactions are one-note, but it's set Twitter off in delight nonetheless. There's a little more depth than expected with certain Pokemon traversing the water with you by way of swimming or flying (Heracross for instance will walk behind you on land and take flight over the seas). It's a beloved feature nonetheless and one everybody is happy to see back.
