Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast PS4 Review: Does It Still Hold Up?

Kyle Katarn is back, but should players just wait for Fallen Order or dive in now?

Jedi Outcast PS4
LucasArts

Rating: ★★★½

Platform: PS4

A long time ago, on PCs that could barely run the latest version of Microsoft Word these days, and on consoles long obsolete, Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast raised the bar when it came to Star Wars action-adventure games.

Not only was it a cool first-person shooter set in the Star Wars universe post Return of the Jedi, but it also had amazing third-person Lightsaber combat and all the Force powers a Jedi could ask for.

This early 2000s classic was recently announced on a Nintendo Direct and well, just came out like that. It almost felt like a mistake as there was almost no marketing push and the Switch port was straight-up late hitting stores - we didn’t get it over here in the UK till gone 1 pm!

So even though it seems to come out of nowhere, does this classic hold up to the test of time or is it nothing more than a nostalgia trip filled with muddy textures and dated gunplay, well let's find out.
