If you're still determined to play stealthily for now though, know that you can use the wait command to jump through any villager's day, meaning they'll re-lock a picked door in the morning when they get up and leave, letting you pick it again.

Across a few houses next to one another, this is a good way to practice on a variety of locks, providing you have enough lockpicks. Starting areas like Skalitz and Rattay are recommended, as are any smaller one-off houses you'll find in the wilderness.
