Last Of Us 2: 25 Easter Eggs, Details & References You Need To See
14. Last Of Us' Composer Is Playing In Jackson
Towards the start of the game, when Ellie is exploring Jackson and seeing lots of different people going about their daily lives, there's one fella who stands out a bit more than the rest.
The guy in question is sitting outside a building, a banjo on his lap, playing some tunes. If you didn't know any better you'd probably dismiss him without a second glance, but this particular character is very important to The Last of Us.
Turns out that the character is actually modelled after Gustavo Santaolalla, the man behind the exceptional soundtrack of both games in the Last of Us series. This was Naughty Dog's way of getting a subtle tribute to the man in Part 2.
So if you're playing through Last of Us Part 2 again, do yourself a favour and stop off to see Gustavo strumming away on his banjo. If only the game let Ellie whip out her guitar and start playing a rendition of Take On Me with Gustavo accompanying on the banjo!
