6. Aerial Kills & Ellie's New Jump Button
While Naughty Dog are yet to show any footage of aerial kills, they've certainly talked about them a lot.
Besides giving Ellie a dedicated jump button (in the original you could mantle up things or dive off the edge of surfaces), much is being made of the "verticality" this brings to combat.
Immediately it makes me think of Uncharted. Of that series' twist on cover shooting being the moment you realise you can climb up and around the corridor of bullets ahead, getting the drop on your opponents as you go.
As Uncharted 4 gave Nate increased aerial kill possibilities and even a disarm/rearm animation that let you keep firing, so to will Last of Us 2's encounters receive a vertical overhaul.
