LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens - 13 Exciting Details We Just Learned

10. There Are 6 New Stories (And They Look Great)

Given that this game is coming out six months after release of the film it's tied into, TT were presented with an opportunity to sell something new to their fans. As LEGO's Head of Digital Games said, part of the appeal for LEGO games is taking an IP like The Force Awakens and adding the magic and the ethos of LEGO (or creative, interaction and engagement) in a way only they could.

But it doesn't end there; TT Games have also added six new story levels, which become available after completing levels and collecting golden bricks for them.

Goring says the levels were worked on with LucasFilm involved (though, again, his team were given the freedom to write themselves). They aren't canon, per se, but they add rich story detail (like the Rathtar hunt or the story of the Crimson Corsair) and they're as deeply developed and heavy in detail as the rest of the game.

The rescue of Admiral Akbar in particular - which I was able to play all the way through - is great, with complex puzzles, masses of charm and rich Star Wars lore.
