Madden 18 Longshot: 8 Ways To Make The Story Mode Perfect

7. Don't Limit The Player's Style Of Play

Let's start by pointing out that you're already limited to one position - Devin Wade is a quarterback. If you don't like playing that position in Madden, well, sucks to be you.

At the beginning the game picks the plays for you, which is even more limiting, considering that in a regular game mode you'd be able to influence team strategy, albeit by disobeying your coach - more on that in a minute. Since quarterback is the on-field equivalent of the general, he should be able to lead his team on his own terms.

Also, there are various quarterback styles to chose from: pocket passer, scrambler or West Coast, just to name the three of the most basic. Here's hoping that the game will not enforce you to be the cliche-scrambler a la Cam Newton, which is a role associated with African-American quarterbacks.

For every Michael Vick there's a Donovan McNabb, you know.
