Madden 21 Wishlist: 10 Things We Want To See

9. Alternate Commentary Teams

The main complaint in that previous entry was tied to repetition, and the same nagging gripes exist elsewhere in the Madden universe.

As good as Brandon Gaudin and Charles Davis are (the pair sound lively, knowledgeable and like they're having a real conversation 99% of the time), they're also tired after being Madden's go-to commentary squad for years. Over in the other football game, FIFA, EA rectified this by adding alt voices for different competitions.

There's an idea for Madden 21 to try. Gaudin and Davis could handle regular season games in Franchise, and then another duo like Joe Buck and Troy Aikman, Al Michaels and Cris Collinsworth or Joe Tessitore and Booger McFarland could take over for Playoff and Super Bowl showdowns. Or, just give the entire thing to Tony Romo.

Whomever EA choose, it's true that Madden needs fresh voices. There are only so many times the same jokes at 4th and 1 plays can be recycled before gamers start to wish they'd muted commentary completely.
