Madden 23: 10 Things You NEED To Know Before Buying
2. Face Of The Franchise Isn’t An Origins Story
Previous incarnations of EA's Franchise offshoot have cast you as a rank newbie. Now, in Madden 23, you’re more akin to someone like Sam Darnold or Baker Mayfield. In other words, you’ve been in the league for a few years but need a fresh start with a new team and face stiff competition for the starting jersey.
Face Of The Franchise drops you into your fifth season as an NFL player, lets you choose from one of five positions (QB, WR, RB, CB, MLB) and takes it from there. Will it still be scripted like some daytime soap? Absolutely, but the new direction sounds better than the same old rags-to-riches tale these modes have done to death.
They got old, man.
It's nice to know that FOTF won't be some crummy origins story about breaking out of college into the NFL. Instead, your star is on the precipice of failure and only has one more chance to rescue his career. Otherwise, it's off to the XFL for you! Probably.
