Magic: The Gathering: 10 Most Powerful Artifacts In 2020 Standard
1. Bolas’s Citadel
It was a tough choice for the top spot, but it had to go to Bolas’s Citadel.
Both the Citadel and Witchs' Oven go in the same deck but Witch's Oven is good in conjunction with other cards whereas Bolas’s Citadel is inherently powerful no matter the situation.
Costing six mana it allows us to look at and play the top card of our deck at any time, the catch is we must pay with our own life instead of mana but this just means we can keep paying life and relentlessly plough through our deck if we gain life along the way we can plough some more!
It also allows us to forsake and sacrifice our own permanents to deal a massive ten damage to EACH opponent, this makes it a cross-format all-star seeing play in nearly every black Commander deck.
Bolas’s Citadel is usually found alongside cards that gain us life or cost one or two mana meaning it’s always going to generate us a ton of advantage and cause a headache for any opponent.
