2. Brazen Borrower

Blue isn't always about locking your opponent out of the game as all you do is wipe the board and counter their spells. The more aggressive side of blue is known as tempo. It's not about denying your opponent from playing any of their cards, it's about just slightly outpacing them and winning the damage race as you remove some of their key threats and are just a little too evasive for them to contend with.

Brazen Borrower is actually two cards, surprise surprise versatility in blue. Petty Theft costs one generic and one blue to return target nonland permanent and opponent controls to their hand at instant speed. It's a great way to slow down aggressive decks. When the threat is gone you can cast your own as Brazen Borrower, a 3/1 flyer, enters the battlefield at instant speed after you pay one generic and two blue mana.

The instant side of this Adventure card helps you to catch up to aggressive decks and the evasive creature side lets you put some pressure of your own on. One card slot in your deck paying off in multiple ways, it would seem blue has a theme.
