2. Jace, The Mind Sculptor
In our silver-gaining second place, we have a crowd favourite – Jace, the Mind Sculptor. While his -12 ultimate is similar to that of our bronze medal winner, it’s his other abilities which make him so powerful.
His +2, while not as impact-full, can be a good counter to any of your opponent’s effects which allow them to position or to know their next card. Several effects in the game allow you to stack the top cards of your deck, but Jace says no and can very quickly ruin your foe’s plans.
His 0 and -1 abilities are the primary beauties of this card though, the former allowing you to stack the top cards of your deck as you see fit, while the latter can regularly keep the board clear of dangerous creatures. This playstyle fits in well with the thinkers of MTG, the people who plan each of their moves turns in advance, and for that reason Jace is number 2 on this list.
