Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls - 10 Characters Who MUST Return
4. Gambit
Considering how insanely popular Gambit is with comic-book fans, he made surprisingly few appearances throughout Capcom's tenure with the Marvel licence. Only being a playable fighter in a grand total of two titles - those being X-Men Vs Street Fighter and Marvel vs Capcom 2 - he's very rarely had a chance to shine amongst series mainstays and it's high-time that he was given his time in the sun.
He's already got the kind of bold look that would fit well into Marvel Tokon's hyper-stylised anime aesthetic and his dual-combo of his fighting staff and explosive playing cards is an iconic approach to combat that leaves the door open for plenty of offensive and defensive options.
And a gameplay expansion would definitely be the best thing for him, as in both his appearances in Capcom brawlers, he's been decidedly mid-tier. Not a terrible character by any stretch but he's been far less likely to show in tournaments than Storm of Cable for example.
The recent X-Men '97 has given the character another considerable boost in popularity - not to mention his cameo appearance in Deadpool vs Wolverine - meaning that more people than ever are wanting to see him return to the fray.
