Marvel's Avengers: 10 Reasons You Should Be Worried

9. The A.I. Isn't Even Remotely Intuitive

If you don't want to play online with other people, then Marvel's Avengers presents the opportunity to switch real gamers for A.I. versions. Many levels even see you joined by other members of the team, and while it's fun to be able to customise that computer-controlled ally, there's a serious problem here: they're freaking terrible at everything they do.

While they make for good shields while you get on with objectives or wait for your health bar to replenish, the A.I. members of The Avengers don't know what they're doing and are no help (particularly in missions with multiple, challenging objectives).

As a result, you're forced to get on with clearing objectives yourself, and it's clear Square Enix was incapable of programming A.I. "smart" enough for this game. If that is indeed the case they would have been better off just not bothering, as it makes things far more frustrating than they should be, and makes the ability to skip playing with other players completely obsolete.
